Ok, here it is. 92' Cabriolet Wolfsburg Edition

Here are a few shots

Now here was what I found under the hood. Look at all that grime, yuck.

A quick dousing with some engine cleaner and a little toothbrush action and things are much better, but far from clean.

So here's the lowdown so far. It's a digi car which is new to me. It's a wolfsburg so it has the wolfie trim like leather seats, cruise control (which works) and seat heater (also works). It has some minor issues, like a lack of shifter bushings, making 1st gear a real bitch. It also seams to have an issue with idleing down really low when the A/C (whihc also blows cold) is on and you come off the highway into traffic. I'm sure I can figure that part out. There is a good bit of wind noise at 90+ mph, but I know thats just the top needing some adjusting. She also needs suspension, she's begging to be lowered.

I'm actually impressed with the car, with the A/C on, she'll do 90mph without having to be pushed hard, with the A/C off, she'll cross the 100mph mark. So she's going to make a nice little car, especially once I get some shifter bushings in, give her new spark plugs and a few other tune up items. So thats the details for now.

I already got one of those :D

An yes, the brocks would be the mutz-nutz but what I think I'm going to do is take the time an polish the stockers. As for the linkage, it's not the mount, it's a clear lack of the major bushing for the main rod and all the other little bushings being worn out. The slop in the shifter is unimaginable and you can hear the main rod slapping the brack that the big bushing is supposed to be in. So I figure I'll see about picking up some bushings tomorrow and getting that taken car of along with some spark plugs and new cap and rotor (as they are all in poor shape).

There is an idle up solenoid that should kick in when the a/c is on.

Looks sharp....I just did a thread on the vortex on how to reduce windnoise on the top....

AWESOME.....

Nice car!! I really like the colour inside and out. Does anyone know if that style kneebar will fit in an 89 cabby?

P.S. I just noticed the tape holders on the center console, I've never seen those in a cabriolet before

The paint isn't as perfect as it looks in the pics. Lots of scratches and such. As for the tape holders, they won't be staying. Matter of fact, I think I have the one from the other cabby as well, so if someone wants them bad enough, heh, you can have the damn things. I'd rather have the cubby hole and since there isn't a tape player in the cars, they arn't of any use anyway.

As for plans, nothing solid just yet. Right now it's just going to be tune up stuff untill we deside if we will be keeping her. Which more then likely will be the case since I fit in this one better then the crabby cabby. In all honesty, I'm hoping that crabby see's this one and figures it better start running right or it might get replaced. Not that we would do that, but we hope to strike some frear into that pain in the ass.
