Okay for the second time in 6 months I have washed my cell phone, the first time I used a hair dryerand it dried it out ok, but there were power issues and the speaker phone didn't work so I bought a new one off of ebay and had it activated......
Yesterday, I did it again, however this time I remember reading a obscure article that said, "take the battery out" shake the water out as much as you can the submerge the phone in dry uncooked rice for 16-24 hours. So OK what do I have to loose.
Alright, I took the phone and ripped the battery out, then I opened the phone up, that is unflipped it. Placed it in a flat bowl poured in a small bed of rice, then covered that thing with rice.
16 hours later, the phone works like a champ, all functions of it.
In retro-spect don't wash the phone, but this should also work for Laptops and the like.
Another article that I read said place it in a bag of rice, and the evacuate the air out of it... So I guess I could of done that too with my mighty-vac.....
But the Rice seems to work...and it is the cheap Generic Long Grained rice. I suppose if I used "Minute Rice" I could cut the time in half?
Opps, I did it again...

Wish I had known about the rice trick a couple years ago. My phone took a swim in Sunkist soda (don't ask!)... two years later, it still works! The interior screen still has some soda remnants; other than that, works great, even the camera! I simply removed the battery, towel- and Q-tip'd dried what I could and sat it in front of a fan for 24 hours. LG makes good phones!

That will work with a lot of different electronics. Somewhat of an old trick, but thanks to all the hand held gadgets these days, it's making a big come-back

Wish there was an easy fix like that for my phone..... two weeks old and got run over by a fork lift
It works if all you want to do is make a phone call, the screen is toast
