I had a 5 foot bar of 1inch square stock.
I took 2 1X12's 2 foot long and notched them to go over the fender inner lips and bolts. Cut a 7/8's square in the top then drilled a hole below that notch to take a muffler clamp, drilled the bar stock to accept the pipe clamp and used the pipe clamp to hold the square stock to the wood.
I used muffler pipe clamps to hold the various turnbuckles and things.
But I really need to add a pair of braces off the wood at right angles to prevent it from swaying left or right.. as long as you have weight on it it is pretty stable, but if you get jiggy it can move...
I used it to pull tranys, and to hold engines while I replaced the mounts and stuff...

maybe cut some 2x4s at 45 and screw them to the outside of the 1x12s and let them sit on the ground, kinda like an A-frame. 2 per side, should make it stiff as hell.
