Winter Plans

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

i think everybody knows what my plans are. i'm going tomorrow to look at an 84 gti parts car, for the trans. then i have to get a hold of rennen performance so they can make me a 2.5" downpipe for my T3. on a side note, i scored a turbo oil pan the other day for $20 :D
If you can't beat them, drop the top and pimp by 'em!

well, since winter doesn't really hit till Janruary here, I'll still play along.

89' cabby - dent removal, CIS behaviour traning (read: beating it into submission) possible paint in the spring.

Scirocco - engine swap from 1.8L 16v to 2.0L 16v. This means lots of engine bay cleaning/painting and wire replacement/cleanup. Also putting in a full TT exhaust that I've had laying around for way too long.

Jetta - As much of a break as we can give it. 30k miles in a year, not so good.

92' Cabby - Clean the engine bay, see about repairing the top a bit and possibly replacing the drivers side windo regulator since it has a chipped tooth that plays hell with the power window motor.

I may also start rebuilding the 1.8l 16v that I take out of the scirocco. Cristine and I have talked about it at great length and I think we will swap it into her cabby late next year. Though the hell with converting it to CIS-E, I think I'll go stand alone management so that in a year or two after that, I can just turbo the damn thing without having a majorr headache.

When I was a youthfull tot, I lived in the great white north...I grew up with snow....played all the usual snowy games skiing, hockey sledding....etc.

I Joined the USCG and was sent north of Greenland and above for 6 months saw snow and ice and polar bears and such in the wilds. I got back in October and the next month they sent me to visit Antartica for a few more months.....

I got out of there and moved back to the great white north to work on puters...had to drive in that crap no matter how bad....I decided to quit and move to the South the land of my birth.... I hate snow....

Looks only good to me on a post card...Here in Atlanta it only snows a couple of times a year, and it usually melts off in one or two days....

We get Ice, more than snow....when it does that I usually work from home.

Who did you tick off at the USCG in order to get all those Crappy cold postings?

No wonder you hate snow. With that much I would too!

I ended up in a wonderful place called CFB Cold Lake for eight years. The nearest cite is 150 miles away.

I say that there are two good things that come out of Cold Lake...Highway 28 and ME! :)

That was nine years ago and I haven't been back since.
