That there is a pretty car in a nasty color. All that work and prep. for brown is not something I understand. Is that actually a factory color?
91 Cabriolet, red w/white
86 Cabriolet white/white (oldest daughter)
97 Golf, black (youngest daughter)
98 Beetle, red
94 Cabrio, dark green (oldest son) Cogito Ergo Zoom
Maybe not that exact shade, but yes, there is a factory do-do brown from VW.
That car however, i'm diggin the hell outta, color and all. I will agree that brown generally doesn't rank on my "Colors I would have" list, but for some reason, that car could live in my garage anytime it wanted to.
On closer inspection, the chrome mirrors would make an exit too.

LOL!!! I totally agree with SoCal!
I love everything about that car, the chrome moulding, the chrome mirrors, the chrome gas cap, the ATS Classics, the duckbill, the headlights, the small euro bumpers......etc.!!!
That car is straight ecstacy! And I too am not much of a brown person, but it rocks on that cabby!

Hey now, what makes the VW world go 'round? Everyone's tastes in VeeDubs being different .
I can't tolerate dinky wheels that stick out and cars so low you can barely drive 'em; however, I do respect the owners' creativity and uniqueness. I don't mind the brown so much, but the wheels and mirrors have to be removed for that car to be mine .

I may get scolded for this, but now that I see them I really don't like those bumpers. The wheels are OK I could even live with the brown!!!
OK scold away
Scold, no way. I had the fat us bumpers on my diesel rabbit, I didn't like them to terribly, but I tell you when I T-boned a 83 mazda 626 ( i was sliding on ice, she was on dry pavement, and saw me but didn't stop.) I totaled the 626 bent the frame at the door pillars. I only scratched the bumper. Insurance said it was al her fault.
my loss 188 bucks new bumper and struts.
626 6,300 dollars
I like the euro bumpers and the fat american cousins. They are sturdy, and dependable.
as far as the color goes, that can be changed, as it isn't whats on the outside that counts, it is what is on the inside, and how well it has been taken care of.
