battery voltage
Is it alright to put a higher voltage battery in my car because the volt guage "guesses" from 11, 12 or 13 sometimes

Re: battery voltage
You would be better served in Replacing your Ground wires from the Battery to the Frame and the Frame to the Engine.
You see the voltage gauge on the console is just that. It tells you the load on the Battery....
If your Battery light isn't ON, then you would be alright.
There are things you can do to eliminate a draw ie: headlight relays, and installing a Diode on the Voltage regulator.
To increase the output.

Your system is a 13.5 battery most cars use them. A higher voltage battery as in 28V isn't a good idea at all You will tend to blow things up.... Now a Higher Amperage Battery is a better Idea but replacing your grounds is the first step.
The standard Cabby and the Battery are a good thing. Replacing your grounds is a really good thing.
You can use 2 off the shelf cables One Battery to frame about 2 foot and a 1-ft jumper from the Frame to the transmission.
Riddle me this Batman.
What do Electrics, Divorce, and Coffee have in common?
They all start with good grounds.
