re: 89 cabby 5 spd. occasionally at a stand still ( as in not moving ) the stick is a little hesitant to go into 1st gear. I told my daughter this is not uncommon with any stick shift.......any input ? thanks jim

If the linkages are out of adjustment, and haven't been replaced then having to place it in second to go into first isn't uncommon.
If the linkages and adjustments don't fix it, that that is usually the 1spd syncos are on their way out.........
