The past week in Car repair

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

Not an easy thing to sew up with the tent on the van. That's an extremely tight corner that tear is at and at the back of the van where there's little space to work in; required the use of a flexible socket extension in order to get the three screws in place. And I ain't taking the tent back off in that section to repair it! I bought some no-sew seam repair stuff that I'm going to put on all 4 corners to prevent any further damage. I'm certainly glad I didn't pay full-price for this tent; after all the hype it gets, I'm not impressed. :|

Well, I have had another setback. I took the Raggit in to get the right rear wheel cylinder fixed Friday. I had them replace both sides. I ended up buying the more expensive Monroe set because I didn’t want the off shore brand. Everything went ok, lines come undone and cylinders off. New ones on and bleed the brakes. The pedal is good and hard, all set. I’ve got brakes again. Drove home 15 miles away and just before I get there came to a stop sign. Stepped on the brake and came to a stop. While sitting there with my foot on the brake, the pedal went soft. Got home and backed into the garage, pedal still going soft. I looked under the car and there was brake fluid all over the left rear tire this time. I jacked up the car and pulled it apart. The new brake cylinder let go. Defective! Now it being 4:00 pm, I called my friend at the shop where it was done. He said the earliest he could replace it would be Monday. I told him that it would have to be Wednesday, because I work Monday, Tuesday and I have to reorder the set again. He told me to leave the car there and he would come to the house Wednesday afternoon and fix it. It’s not even his fault and he is going to correct it. It’s great to have friends in high places. I guess I should have bought the off shore brand.

Those look to be re-manned cylinders....
Also you will have to replace the shoes....and rear grease seal.

crappy before and after magic erasers,,,,,but the headliner looks really clean and spiffy....No Nauga's were harmed making this infomercial, but alas 4 Mr. Clean Magic Erasers (bathroom scrubby kind are more durable) gave there all to make this happen....

Got the top pad installed, pictures taken, pulled the top out of the box, and it is the most craptastically created vert top I have ever seen.....
So ordering a new one from a different vendor.... If you want to know who not to order from email me.

The side panels are sewn not embossed and sealed. I will post picts

I spent the day on Topless Bunny I had to replace the window seal on the passenger side and since it requires taking out the side panel, I decided to replace the rear speakers as well.

I only have two things to say about the speakers. First the old ones were well past their "best before date". Most of the paper cones had disintegrated with age. No wonder they sounded so crappy,
My other comment is what a pain to find 3 1/2" speakers. I had to go to three different electronics stores before I found a pair.

In the end it all went back together.

Phill, I actually was able to fit 6" speakers in the rear of the cabby. I had to put them behind the foremost doorskin, but it worked out well and the sound is great. Just a thought if you go to replace them again down the road.

Actually that's a good idea for Posh Bunny since it is a custom. But Topless Bunny is the one I want to keep stock, that's why I did all the running around to find the small speakers.

Perfectly understandable sir. I'll rummage around and see if I still have the box's for the 6's I put in crabby cabby. This way you know exactly what works.

Nothing left of mine either years ago when I replaced them. And I found 3.5" speakers no problem (Infinity brand... they rock -- pun intended  ) back then at Circuit City (RIP).
