The beginnings....
Here are some pictures of when we bought the 84 rabbit. We had to replace all the brakes, axels, clean the thing, new soft top, tires, windshield and paint job (to name just a few things!). We are done with mostly everything (will post pics of the finished job as soon as we're done), and just have to finish work on the wheels, get new tires, put the back window back in, put it all back together (the whole thing was stripped down for the paint job), clean it again, register and inspect it. Phew!

I think this level of work get weighed in metric s&*t tons. Man, I can't wait to see the end result.

Well, it passed inspection as of this morning. As soon as the weather gets better (been pouring rain/collecting snow here) I will try to post pics. The car looks great. Other than a small leak issue in the driver's side corner of the window near the J-hook, the thing looks and runs great!

Re: The beginnings....
Oh, and before I post the pics, I just wanted to preface it by saying that this is NOT a show car. The car had dents in the fender and all sorts of trouble before we bought it. We just wanted a fun little car (we've always loved the ol' rabbits) for a couple of years. All the work (ALL) has been done by us on a budget. So it ain't perfect, but it's great for us.
