Re: Jetta Update
The thing about a Beetle is, sometimes if getting to something without dropping the engine involves a lot of disassembly and/or contortions, it's just easier to drop the $#@$! engine...

Re: Jetta Update
Do you just need a new alternator cause it's not pretty?
If I sent you a bad alternator then I can ship another one.

Re: Jetta Update
You can usually rent that tool from autozone, but then again harborfreight has it too for about 50 bucks.SoCal_Cabby wrote:friday i am installing my brake booster/master cylinder and bleeding the brakes, then im dropping the K frame and installing my manual steering rack...i still need the tool to remove the tierods so i can install the adjustable ones for both sides (MkII manual racks are usually only adjustable on one side)

Re: Jetta Update
You can get by without it too. Turn the rack all the way to one side and
remove boot. You can usually get a pair of large pliers or even the correct
wrench in between the control arm and the subframe. Did it for many years.
Now I have a tool. Or I am one.....

Re: Jetta Update
I don't think that's an either/or sort of thing.
