You have no idea. The only reason I've been able to post as of late is because I'm now stuck at my desk, remotely building all the new servers for some of our recent purchases. Which means once I start an install on 6+ remote servers, I have a few min to read and post before they finish.

Well, I just got the problems with my cabby fingered out. Ron and I have been bs'ing about it,,, and well here it is.
I get the car from my daughter and she says that it is running like crap.
So I proactively change the plugs with new Bosch plat 2's.....
Change the rotor
Hear the whine of the fuel pump and replace the in-tank pump.
have the exhaust fixed
Still it is being the ass as in running like crap.
So after finding the split o-ring on the Throttle body, replacing the o-ring and teflon taping the threads it is still the ass.
So while I am waiting for the phone to ring I decided to pull the plugs to see if it was cylinder specific.
number 1, 2, 4 plugs look like they are being used and running
number 3 looks like I just took it out of the package.
All the wires tested good with my spark tester... so why is 3 not firing.
Take out the VOM and measure the wires with a plug and they all measure within 200 ohms.
I then measured the tip of the plug to the wire connector, and
number 2 and number 4 are with in 5 ohms, number 3 is 2k different, and number 1 plug is Infinite.
So.. I have a Brand new plug in the box for my Nissan Path finder, and I will be damned if it isn't infinite too.
I spose I will be taking a set of Bosch plugs and Shoving them up a Autozone persons ass in the morning.

wow.. I've put in hundreds of spark plugs and never had that issue.. did have one that had a cracked insulator that was causing it to arc and miss though... someone probably dropped it before I got it. But then... we use both Beru and Bosch plugs depending on the application.

I have seen a total of 7 bad plugs in my lifetime.
2 were Champion, Bad manufacturing caused the engine to Suck the entire plug in to the engine (save the nut) analysis showed that the manufacturing process had problems on that run...Both sets I put in were from the same run. Champion being a great company, paid for the rebuild of the engine. 2 different plugs in two different cylinders in 6 weeks of each other, scratched the Cylinder walls.
Now two sets of Bosch 1 year apart each had plugs fail in the same way, and 1 plug out of the box bad. KMA if I ever go Bosch again, and that is all I have been using for years.

Damn Brian. While I don't know if write off Bosch for 2 plugs in one year, I haven't been slowley switching back to Nippon Denso's. Always used them in my toyota's and never had an issue. Not to mention, that what I heard VW is shipping in all the new cars.
But I will say I've never had a crap plug outta the box. Wires, definitly, but not the plugs themselves. However, I have heard to stay away form Boch home appliences (washers, dryers & dish washers). Every place that carries them says they constantly come back.
My dad (mechanic) has experienced bad plugs out of the box... but not in years. Ron recommends BP6ES plugs by NGK; he considers them the best equivalent to the Bosch W7DTC plugs. NGK used to be crap back in the "old" days, but my VR6 Jetta came with them and I've *knocks on wood* never an issue with them... other than their price! Thankfully, the Cab plugs are half the price of the Jetta plugs!
What a difference a day and a good set of plugs make...... Purrrrrrrs like a kitten, and has the get up and get.

Well, I thought that I had all my ducks in a row.
Had all the parts ordered a whole kit online frame bushings ball joint.
Had all the tools.
Started at 8:00am
@1:30pm I ordered a new control arm and bushing local....
It wouldn't arrive until 2:30pm
Go pick it up, and return @ 3:45....
Install new bushings in arm
Attach it to the frame, done by 5:00pm
At 1:00 I finally got out my my squares and straight edges, and the new frame where the front bushing was 1/4 of an inch out of square and that was what I was fighting trying to get the Front bolt to feed through and catch the nut.
ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
I should of not even attempted it as the frame didn't look like it was good to start with the bushing carrier to the frame hasn't clean and even.
So this is getting to be a habbit.... Get parts, they are bad from the get go.
Looking at the new frame to the New Local frame and it was really obvious. If you are struggling go get a new frame.
I will be sending the parts back for a refund minus the ball joint....

Repairs over the past couple of months:
Replaced radiator.
Relayed the headlights.
Replaced reverse/upshift switch.
Replaced the battery ground cable.
Drove the car a couple days ago only to have the shift light stay on in 5th gear. Suspect: The new reverse/upshift switch. Popped the hood today to discover what the problem was: Yours truly. I unplugged the switch harness to access the ground cable bolt and forgot to plug it back in.
Now, I'm off to order new crystal-clear headlights; driver's side Halogen bulb is shot.
I generally pay little to no attention to the shift light. If it stopped working, I wouldn't care; since it was on all the time, it was like driving my Jetta with the CEL on.

I've heard of more than one person who used it as a glow plug light, when doing a diesel conversion.

Wait, your jetta has a perm CEL as well Do you know what it's complaining about. Ours is whining about the cam position sensor and the cat threshold when fuel prices cause us to toss regular fuel in it. Amazing how you get used to that light being on and then freak out on the rare occasion when it doesn't come on.
