I saw your tplsbny on the thread. It seems that w/ 2 1/2 mph bumpers, the quad headlights look pretty good. I have seen 85's with 5mph bumpers and quad lights, they look out of place, actually they look like renault 17 Gordini's. That was one great car, but nothing is more rugged and a survivor than old Volkswagens.

I bought the grill in Germany years ago. It is actually a VW Motorsport grill for a GTI. When I first bought the car, I thought that dual light grill looked sort of blank. This to me was the best way to give it something.
I am currently working on an '88 where I intend to install Euro bumpers. This car did not have the '88 quad light grill so I am going to install a stock grill off an '87.
First I have to pull the engine and send it out to the body shop.
Too bad California is such a long way from here, It'd be fun to get together and compare cars.
