Only reason I can think of to take it off is seal replacement.
The job is real easy once the covers and t-belt are out of the way. Use a deep well 13mm socket on any sort of ordinary right angle ratchet, breaker, sliding tee, whatever. Put the deep well trough any of the holes in the auxiliary shaft gear onto either of the 8mm (13mm head) bolts that hold the seal/thrust bearing housing and use this socket and handle on the bolt to keep the gear from turning. Apply a 19mm box end to the bolt and take the bolt out. The gear should slide right off, watch for the woodruf key, they sometimes fall out.
The auxiliary shaft gear and camshaft gear are identical in all respects and can be freely swapped (counter to usual mechanic's best practice.) Mark them anyway, you'll feel better for it. Keys are identical too.
To change the seal
S, remove the two bolts holding the flange, the flange slides right out.
DON'T MISS the o-ring under the flange!! At first glance you may not even see it, they leak like crazy when over looked.
Cam, crank and auxiliary shaft shaft seals are all identical, buy three, or four if you a prone to screwing one up when you don't have a spare. All three seals
usually but not always install with thumb pressure. As usual, sockets, prybars and hammers can assist as needed.
Here's hoping you have no reason to remove the auxiliary shaft, there is no way possible with the engine in the car.
