thats not bad at all. Figure your basicly getting to the wheels what the engine produced at the crank in OEM format. I'd take the rocco to the dyno, but I think my tires @ss 16v would put down numbers below a stock 8v at this point

New to the group, but wanted to comment on Dyno results. I am trying to make a decision as to which direction I want to go with a build up. Are you happy with what you feel when you stomp the gas and take off? I have been pushing around buying an A1 cabby and doing the typical 2.0l 16v swap or stepping up for the overweight Cabrio and supercharging it. For all your efforts/costs, was your project worth it?

Welcome to Topless and I am not going to answer your question directly but... I have a stock 91 Cabby and the GTI engine is more than enough to satisfy me. I have owned and abused some of the most extreme horsepower animals that you could ever imagine all my life. I have always had a need for speed and I have always been an extreme adrenalin junkie. I have had it all in stunt planes, racing riverboats and quartermile dragsters only to mention a few. Now I am 50 and I drive a cheerleadermobile. But you know what. The last years of the Cabby A1 really were come great cars just in factory stock form. If you try to do anything more to the stock form of the engine you pretty well run into a brick wall. If you are going to go for the engine swap, they are very forgiving and most everything is basically bolt in. I would suggest finding a car that has been on its top or a car that has been T-boned and basically transplant the Cabby body onto the engine/drivetrain of your choice/dreams. You can go overboard very easily and Audi is probably your best donor for the money. You can find some great Audi's to strip and they make some serious displacement options compared to the stock Cabby. All that said, be careful what you wish for, you might get it. I have a friend that has a 426 Hemi in his and it did not turn out to be a daily driver but it does make a great milkshake in the glovebox.
