shift bushings

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

shift bushings

Post by 1lowcab »

just got done replacing the shift bushings and shift rods in my rabbit D.
MAN what a difference!!! feels like a new one. 228,000 miles on it and i think they were the original bushings, all egg shaped and thin.
i have a new sachs clutch kit for it i might put on tomorrow.
If you can't beat them, drop the top and pimp by 'em!

I believe Steve Langford phrased new shifter bushings as the "poor man's new transmission" or something like that. It definately makes a difference, replacing those. Hubby will be working on mine over the weekend.
Along with the new door handles...and the clear bumper lights :D

yup yup... gaters, skeeters, and people with names like One Eye and Tiny.
My mom live literally in swamp country in the middle of nowhere. I get to take the truck down so I fit in a little. Cabby is staying here to get some TLC since hubby cant every get me out of it long enough to work on her.

Not only can I never get her out of the car long enough, but the roa her mother lives off of looks like it comes right out of a congo movie.

I'd be blasting mud, rock and all sort of other crap off the underside of the car for weeks. :x
