whoa
so, my throttle cable has been binding for a few weeks, makes for fun herky jerky accelleration and crap like that. Traditionally i've alwasy popped the cable out every spring, spray it down with WD-40 to wisk away any moisture and lube it up the best i could with bearing or cv grease
this time, how ever, i desided to buy a new one
wow
amazing the difference.
i hadn't thought about it before, but, you know, as you use cables, they stretch. my old cable was almost an inch longer than the new. besides a very soft easy to use pedal, i'm also now getting full throttle. i'm feeling the secondary open up earlier which shows that i wasn't fully opening both butterflies
sweet
probably what helped me spank the same accord twice last night

Doesn't get much cheaper than that for performance upgrades does it? Just like I was saying last week, you live with something for so long cause you "know" what's wrong, then you fix it and you have a new car.

and for 12 bucks i think i'm gonna start hiding that can of grease
also recommend ditching the foam pedal bushing and upgrade to the hard plastic A2 automatic bushing...

Man, you didn't need to spend the $12. You gotta go cheap-ass if your going to do it right. When the cable stretches and you can't adjust it any farther, just remove the pedal stop on the floor board. Thats a free fix right there
But you are correct, new cables are always nice and I've heard about using that bushing before, thanks for the reminder about that. I might just pick up another cable and bushing for the rocco and the cabby next month.

That's the first I've heard of the bushing, gonna try that myself I think. My VW dealer is not the best, anybody got a part number?

not so easy
i removed the pedal stop 3 years ago
I still have the baggy for the bushing in the car, i'll snag the part number off it when i get out there next

Thanks guys. By the way ericb49, my compliments on the mods. The budget is probably not going to allow what you have done but I'm drooling thinking about it. Nice work.
