Haven't been on here in a while so figured I would check in and show whats been going on. Thanks Calimus for helping me with my password issues! I've posted this on Vortex and another site so some might have read this already.
I put her away about 6 years ago due to life getting in the way, and no money to give her the attention she needed. Earlier this year my parents told me they were moving, so I had to do something with her. The plan was to just sell it, but after seeing it for the first time in nearly 6 years, I just couldn't do it. My buddy offered me a spot in his garage so I could work on it and get her back to her formerly glory.
How she looked before it went away
Pulling her out of the garage. Surprisingly after so long sitting, some fresh gas and oil change she fired right up and drove onto the trailer.
So first things first pulled the interior out and gave her a thorough cleaning
Seats cleaned:
Pulled the carpeting, nice rust free floors:
So on to the bigger stuff. The gas tank started leaking a long time ago which is part of the reason why I put it away. So me and my buddy pulled the old tank a few weeks ago. It only took about an hour to get the old one out. Surprisingly only broke one bolt.
Nice shiny new tank that I stumbled upon while trying to find a place to get the old one looked at.
Primed painted rockguarded and rub stripped up
So this week we got the new tank in, replaced the flex lines. Still gotta replace rear bearings on both sides put the axle back in place and bleed the rear brakes.
I also have to figure out why the rad fan isn't coming on and track down 2 leaks before I can drive it. But she's getting close.
