weekend plans...

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

weekend plans...

Post by PDX Cabby »

went and ditched all my friends and a "european" car show to do the following:

-complete custom parcel tray
-repair stereo wiring from theft attempt
-change oil
-re-install the top (think i have a strap twisted)
-relocate battery
-compression test (see if i infact do have a bad head gasket...)

and... if i manage to do all that, i'll get back to the Fox to make it move again

hard part is i still haven't desided where to put the battery: trunk or behind rear seat... guess i'll just have to put the battery in and see where i like it most...

Isn't "behind the rear seat" technically the trunk?

Sounds like we were both having fun.

Started the process of operation, Gut the Engine out of the New Cabby today. Didn't get as far as I wanted, but whith all the extra labeling I'm doing and trying not to make a damn mess, it's time comsuming. Especially the not making a mess part.

Well, it wasn't part of my original weekend plans. But I ended up having a nice electrical fire in my car. Haven't pulled the dash off yet to see what happened but I have no dash lights and the dimmer switch for the dash lights is not moving. Hope that's all it is, hope nothing else further in is fried....

Sounds like the switch bit it, which is a bit common actually. If your real lucky a new switch will cure the problem, but definitly do check the wiring as much as possible.

Sweet.

Didn't get as much done to the cabby as I wanted and definitly didn't get as much done as the wife wanted. But I did manage to get most of the electrical and fuel injection out of my way. Drained the coolent and yanked the Radiator. So about all there is now, is to remove a very few more electrical connections, dissconnect a few hoses, drop the down-pipe, remove the tranny linkage and yabn the drave axles and the engine and tranmny will be ready to fall out. Yep thats right, all the pain in the ass parts as left.
