Distribution duct vacuum actuator

I've got a vacuum leak in the HVAC system. I tested the hoses on the vacuum switch one at a time, and narrowed it down to the one marked "to vacuum unit for distribution duct" on page 3-10 of the Haynes manual -- the second from left, when you're looking into the radio opening. What the Haynes doesn't tell me is where this vacuum unit is located or how to access it...I just have a hose disappearing into the bowels of the dash. Anyone happen to know? It seems to be a pretty important one, because right now I get air to the defogger and nowhere else in all lever positions.

Thanks, that's very helpful. Now to figure out how to get to it.

If you are talking about the servo that deflects the flow from full frontal to defrost.
You have to remove the DASH.

Yeah, that's not happening.

That servo is a common failure item. I had to replace it on mine several years ago. That being said, I dare you to try replacing that thing without removing the dash.
