Phil made me come here....
Calaltadubber (Phil) told me about this great website that he proudly mentions he moderates so i thought i would come and join to keep the guy happy
So this is my first Cabby. and my second VW (the other one being my winter beater 97 golf). I was at the local junk yard and spotted this lurking in the used car lot. I had to go check it out, as i had been thinking/ dreamign of owning one of these one day. The price was listed @ $1000 (cdn). I looked around it and decided to pass and go get what i needed at the junk yard.
That night i got a twich, i needed to get that car i could not get it off my mind so i went back the next day and examined her more carefully. i noticed that the water pump pully was missing and that there was no wiring to the rad fan. i made an offer of $600 and was now the proud owner of a mk1
This is how she looked getting home (oh yeah her name "White ripper" cuz of the rips on the side of the top. it came with coils on it and new tires as well.
Day i got it over at my friends house
Then came some paint repair (its bad spray paint but looks better then rust)
Drivers door with the Bondo i have a new door but limited funds to even afford spray paint (bars/ clubs are not cheap either)
Then got a duck bill for $40 which ended up coming off after less then a week (waste of money, should have bought paint but looked good with it on it)
then the most recent. my friend Cory and i went biking the other day and we took some pics. that him standing on top (trying to find trim)
I hope you all enjoyed it and now the plans are to drive it and just ahve some fun. next summer will hold a lot more.

Re: Phil made me come here....
Sean found a nice base to work with. Except for the Bondo in the driver's door, it is a very solid car. He has found a new door but hasn't installed it yet.
I'm supprised he didn't post the picture of his car and mine.
