My 1991 Mk1 CABBY
ive been on the hunt for 1 of these for the last while now ,and by chance a friend of the wifes heard about it, this 1 belonged to her cousin and wasnt actually for sale but she passed on my details and after a few phone calls and emails the deal was done this evening...
Its a 1991 1.8 8v karmann gti first registered on the 7th of january 1991, ordered on the 22/12/1990 with a huge history file including the original bill of sale, old mot's, v5's, all services and work carried out throughout its life in the uk and ireland ,the paint is in good condition its had the boot lid replaced back in 2005 and 1 rear arch painted, on digging around it has pagid pads on the front, an upper strut brace and lower anti roll bar fitted , the rear shocks have also been uprated aswell, the interior was tidied a while ago aswell with the seats getting new foam and the plastic mat on the carpet being replaced, it has manual windows front and rear but the roof is electric, the fabric on the roof has shrunk but it can wait until next year to be replaced as its fully usable, there will be more to follow when i collect the car next week...
my plans for now are to service it, sort the brakes, different wheels, and enjoy it for the summer.....

Welcome! Nice-lookin' Cabriolet you have. You may want different wheels, but I rather love BBS RAs; they look great on your car!

Just noticed that your side cables are too-long. That is what is causing the arch in the top at the side window.
You need them to be 37 1/4 inches from loop to loop.
Heres a how to for you:

And yes you can retro fit them....
