I know I have asked this before but i wanted to double check and be sure, for it hasnet been 4 months since i bought new struts and it went wrong.

My question is, the new replacement struts, are they suppose to retract like rear shocks you take out of the box? The struts i bought from Rock Auto were stiff and after 6 trys, the left one bent on me and the right side still didnt close properly. Somone please help, in south florida and still in raining season and ready to roll but top keeps me away from doing so.

Yes the struts are stiffer than you can imagine.

If one of them bent, then throw it away and renew.

You probably need to oil your pivot points on the top with some marvel mystery oil

The question is if you remove the struts, and then close the top does it close correctly?
That is the key.....

If the top don't close correctly then the struts aren't gonna help you.

After you oil your top, open and close it a few times to work the oil in....
