well i did alot of work to the cabby today, i ground down the caliper carriers so i am now actually driving the cabby with the 17's. it doesn't rub near as bad as they did on my jetta, only on harsh bumps.
i fixed the speedo, so now i can see how fast i'm driving. the previous owner put the gear on the hole wrong and the drive gear was wearing a path through it. luckily i caught it in time, i had to dremil it smooth and now it works like it should.
i adjusted my headlights, so now i'm not searching for squirrels in the trees when i drive at night. (my left light seemed to point straight up and left)
i bent the driver side seat rail back to where it should be (almost). so now i can go around a left turn without fear of flying onto the passenger seat.
took a look at my motor mounts, and both the left and right ones are toast
i just replaced the tranny mount so i think i need to fix these ones too so i won't have to re-do the tranny mount.
i located the cause of my oil leak. it's the oil cooler (the thing the filter screws into)i think i can just get away with replacing the gasket (or is it a seal?)
my oil pan gasket is leaking too (i just replaced it so i think i need to torque it next time, or t is just residual from the oil cooler) I'll find out when i fic the cooler leak and cleanup the area.
i really need a heater fan switch, dash bezel, carpet, the black pieces that go right above the door panels, the rear shelf...ect.

I already replied about your post in "parts: for the switches & door panel trim parts. I can't really help ya with the carpet, but I think the old cabby still has a good rear shelf. I'll be taking pics of all that stuff tomorrow and posting it up so you can see it then.
As for the rest of your day, sounds like you have fun. I replaced the sunroof seal in my rocco today, and while removing the sunroof panel isn't hard at all, switching out the seal is the pitts. My thumbs are killing me! However, since it started raining tonight while I was over at a friends house, the new seal was put to the test and has passed with flying colors. I stayed dry after the car was rained on for 3 hours.

Yep. Its odd color, for sure..

Im about to yank the 17s in favor of 15s, though..
24-25mpg sucks in a bunny.. My VR6 Passat wagon B3 got better than this does.
thanks!

I can see some of the pictures of the 17's but the first ones I could not see for some reason. I think they all look great but I bet they don't ride well. I have a tire / wheel setup that touches the inter finderwell up front in a parking lot when turning tight. They never rub on the road and my rear tires only rub in a hard bump with an extra passenger in the back. They always ask, "What was that". I just say "A bunny fart." It is better to look good than to feel good, right?

Hey bubster!
I think 90% of my cabby's rough ride is due to the dead_ass suspension.. AS soon as I complete this motor swap and hear it run, I'll swap the suspension, since it is still up in the air.
I am looking for some cool 15s, so I can sell my 17s.. Just don't like that much wheel on the Mk1..

the reason you can't see the pics of mine is due to the fact that im not mosting them anymore, if you want i can re-post some pics of it with the 17'sbubster007 wrote:I can see some of the pictures of the 17's but the first ones I could not see for some reason.
