gettting my cabby up to scruff

Post by marco pabst »

ok, so I just got my '87 cabby and it sat for a while before I got it so. . the gastank is a lovely color of rust and both my fuel pumps are shot. So pretty much, I am going to be replacing everything from the fuel tank to the injectors minus the line which im going to clean. So, I can do most of the work or have it done for free ( pretty much mine entire family has or still does work on vw's) any other things guys can see might be needed to do.

Don't forget to clean the return line to the tank.

Aside from that, the normal stuff. New oil, new spark plugs, new plug wires, flush the coolent system, new distributor cap and rotor. Give all the wiring that you can inspect a good once over as sitting cars are very attractive to mice and all their furry cousines. Want to make sure you don't have chewed wiring just waiting to arc.

Not terribly far. There are a few of of here in the SE. Calimus and I live north of Atlanta, Brian is in Atl, Nick in TN, Juan who never posts but goes to shows is on the border of TN and Mo. and...a few others, too.

We currently are planning on attending Southern Worthersee in Helen, GA and Bugapaulza in Chattanooga, so if you go to any of those make sure you let us know.

Greenville isn't too terribly far from my place, I was figuring that with a name like PABST, that you were near my ancestral brewery. Peoria ILL :)

I have fond memories of my Grandpa Al reaching behind his Kitchen booth, and grabbing a PBR longneck warm and pouring it over his cornflakes..

:) What can I say Grandpa Al was off the boat Dutch.
