Current parts list for my rocco
Since the cabby is now for the most part mechanicly sound (I will prollie regret saying that ) it's finally time to turn my attentions to my rocco.
So, here's the current list of parts I've pickup and/or have on delivery.
2L 16v motor
Block gaskets
Valve cover gasket
all motor mounts
Poly inserts for the side motor mounts
Autotech sport cams
Digi-I ECU & wiring harness
Custom 16v fuel rail
G60 corrado fuel pressure regulator
G60 corrado fuel injectors
G60 Lower injector seats
new clutch disk
Rear poly shock bushings
Rear poly control arm bushings
New exhast manifold studs & nuts
TT 2.5" aluminium cat back exhaust w/dyno-crap muffler
Exhaust gaskets
VW sports windage tray
new cam/cank seals
Autotech ajustable timing gear
Timing belt
Timing belt tensioner
Upper strut mount bearings
Full Vmaxx coil-over suspension kit
Right front control arm, bushings and ball joint (Left side was replaced 1 year ago)
Throttle cable
Replacement Euro high beam
I think thats it for now. Or at least thats all I can remember. I may have left some minor stuff out, but all the major crap is listed. Definitly should be a ton of fun happening real soon. I've been waiting to do this for about 2 years and have finally gathered just about everything I need. You can definitly expect a full pictorial of the build and there is definitly a good chance that there will be video to caputre me in all my foul mouthed glory as well. Hopfully I won't pickup the nasty habbit of tool throwing.

Oh yea, having the parts pile up is actually what has caused me to get my ass in gear. Tuesday is when the coil-overs come from Stratmosphere as well as a fat order from German Auto Parts. Once those boxed are added to the pile I don't know if I'll be able to contain myself.
Sadly, I'm still a long ways off. I have to pull the current engine and trans from the rocco and the the worst part of all, cleaning the engine bay. This alone I figure will take me 2 weeks. The original owner has the bay coated with undercoat to keep anything from rusting. Which I'm thankfull for, but now I have to remove it after it's been sitting there collecting all matter of grime for 19 years. Thank god I have a 2500psi pressure washer as I feel it will be my best weapon against the crud that lerks under the hood.
Once the bay is cleaned and repainted, then the real fun will start. I have a ton of parts/brackets that still need to be cleaned nd re-painted. Some things I'm going to see if I can get powdercoated if I still have the $$ at that time. Target compleation is set for mid April so that it's done in time for Bug-a-palooza, but it's a soft date at best. True date is at the end of May so that the rocco can make the trek to Ohio for the big Scirocco gathering.
So I'm going to need a ton of luck as for the most part, this is going to be a one man build. Cristine is going to help where she can and I will have some help with wiring in the Digi-I, but most everything else will be all on me. This will be my biggest single project, followed very closely by Cristines cabby build. Only problem is that I have a matter of months, not a full year like I did with the cabby.
Should be a monster when I'm done though. I'm hoping for about 150hp and 160+lbs of tourque. Don't know that I'll ever get it dyno'd, but will have to see at the very least, what the ol' butt dyno has to say.

thx guy's. I should be starting on this a tad tomorrow and then Friday night and the rest of the weekend I'm going to try and get the new engine mostly together and get the current engine and trans out.
Then all the fun cleaning the engine bay starts. Prollie won't get any time durring next week to do anything as work is going to averaging about 16 hours a day, but the following weekend I'll be right back at it.
I'd really like to see this thing running by mid April if I can pull it off.

damn, i'd better get on the ball if we're going to have that race this summer
i'll have to keep checking the garage cam for progress.
i'm going to dig the cab out this weekend, slap the rear bumper back on and take it down to my father-in-laws HUGE ass garage and start removing the top and frame. once i have that taken care of then i can start on the turbo install.

That reminds me, FedEx doesn't like the dimensions for the replacement top. So I'm looking into some other transport methods. I haven't ruled out "the hound" yet either, but the issue there is, I don't think there is a "hound" station anywhere near me.
