93 cabby enigine mods?

Hey all, new to the site but hope to be a regular, and looking to see if there are guys on the east coast here in Pa.
Just about to buy my cabrio at the end of the week. It's a 93 with a 1.8 enigine. Here is the thing, it is immaculate and onely has 28k original miles. No kidding. I'm getting it off an old guy who pretty much garaged it for like the last 5 years. Anyway runs and looks great.
Now my question. Since it only has 28k I kindof not sure about swpping to a 2.0, Besides a header and comlete exhuast ,wires and plugs what are some other mods that I can do. And do you guys have some website you can tell me about. I can't seem to find alot of stuff on mk1 cabrios.

I ws also thinking about a turbo and or maybe a 16v head. Is either of those doable?

Well, you could get a chip to spice things up a bit. It will remove the very unnoying digilag, smooth out the power curve and give you better throttle response.
