Car & Driver review?

Post by gull »

The Cabriolet FAQ website has a nice quote by Car & Driver about the VW Rabbit Convertible. Does anyone have a copy of the complete review? I'm curious what they had to say about the car. I have my own observations, some complimentary, some not, but I'm comparing it to modern cars, not what was available when it came out.

I don't. That C&R quote was lifted out the book "Volkswagen Chronicle" (or something like that; my memory is taking a nap today). 8)

I haven't read Car & Driver for years, but having owned the Topless Bunny for almost 20 years (since new) I will state it is still my favorite car of all that I have owned.

Yes I have had both good and bad expierences with the car over the years, but the good has far outweighed the bad.

There is nothing like driving with the top down on a hot summer day.

I love mine already. I just think, from a chassis dynamics standpoint, it doesn't stack up to modern cars. There's quite a bit of cowl shake, for example. That doesn't matter that much to me, but it's the sort of thing I'd expect to see pointed out in a review.
