your right there, If people took a little time tu understand their car, they would find that their car wpuld last a lot longer. Problem with that is car makes would notice a lower number of new car sales. People would be quite happy to keep driving their car.
Auto parts would see an increase of part requirments. By reforming better maintenance, car owners would replace worn parts as a matter of routine maintenance.
People would also notice a large saving.
Finally, I know it can be done. as I have mentioned several times how long I have owned my Cabriolet. The next longest one was a 1990 Chevyvan that I owned and regularly drove for 11 years.
It was sold to make way for the Jetta, we needed to have something a little more practical, that was also easier on gas.
