Been sick since Saturday so not much is getting done. Was sent home from work today and after getting home and laying in a medicated coma for a few hours I felt a bit better and figured I'd do something constructive rather then just lay on the couch.
The good feeling didn't last long, so all I got done was getting the air intake off, pulling he altenator, ISV, battery and the distributor. However, I feel a bit more justified in doing the 2L swap as there are some obvious signs of the 1.8 being flat worn out. If you look close, you can see the oil sitting on the air plate as well as sitting in the throttle body. ISV & hoses were pretty well coated as well.
Photo's of the mini carnage.

Oh yea, and while I still had a tad of daylight, I got a few more parts painted

Then we at least felt about the same. I've had a head-cold all weekend and I'm just now starting to get the upper hand. I could have easily dropped the motor and trans in the time it took me to just get the damn Atl outta there. I feel week and tired and it sucks. On the flip side, I generally only get sick about once a year, so this could be a good thing.

Took me long enough, but here are the fruits of today's labors.

Thats right boys and girls, the engine is out of the rocco. The old exhaust system is also about.
New poly rear trailing arm bushings are in to boot.
I feel like a big ass bear knocked me down and trampled all over me, but it's a good feeling of sorts. I had help today though. A friend of mine from the Vortex came up and we knocked all that out in just 3 hours.
So if all goes well tomorrow, after work, I'll put the rear coils up in, put the fron tires back on and will have a rolling shell. I'll get it outside, and then tuesday I can start cleaning the engine bay. Once thats clean and painted, everything starts going back together.
Granted this weekend is BAP, so I'll be there. But I think from here on out, progress will be a bit more steady. I'm just hoping I can make my june deadline.

Cristine can go back into the engine bay, I have bigger fish to fry.
However, the car munching on you again can easily be arranged.
Brian, hot soapy water wouldn't stand a chance against this stuff. It's on there like heard of human cattle on a vegas buffet. Highly toxic combination will prollie be in order.

Hopefully it wasn't very hot coffee. Then again, if it was, I can certainly understand why it cleaned your shnoz out so well.
I'm prollie going to see about cutting the starter bolts today as well as possibly serpeate the engine/tranny. I have to have something to do while the rest of the video is crunching away on the machines.
