The wiring diagrams are the best and most complete part of the 'rocco/Cabby Bentley, even with their flaws. The flaws came from the VW Factory that way, I doubt Bentley Publishers are diabolical enough to have created those mistakes. Part of the problem may well be due to minor production changes in the cars during the model years in question, TSBs are issued regularly by all manufacturers to address such issues and should get incorporated into later document revisions, doesn't always happen though.
The bright side of schematic errors for the individual is that once you have found one of those errors, you really know and understand that circuit very well indeed.
You know that air bag controller bypass that I post to the 'tex on occasion?? It takes no more than 5 minutes to mod that circuit, took me about 2 1/2 hours back and forth in Bentley to find that little junction, what it does and how to bypass it. No single diagram shows the circuit clearly. I own that circuit now, it cannot hide anymore!!

I'll guess the A4 Bentley is layed out like the A3 book, groups like 10 for engine, the teens for separate areas of the engine internals, 40 for front suspension and drive axles, 97 for electrical schematics, and so forth, follows the factory system exactly, goes back to the late 60s. The middle three digits of the part numbering scheme aslo parallels this grouping.
Why doesn't the Cabby/'rocco Bentley follow this convention?? The VAG CDRom follows, but has no schematics, those are another $100, and contain the same errors we already have in Bentley.
