Hi there,
Stumbled across your site after searching for info on replacing the top on my 86 cabby and just thought I would create an account to say thanks for all the great info!
Keep up the great work everyone.

Top replacement seems to be the ongoing topic here. But it is a major part of owning one of these cars.
I had mine done a couple of years back and cost me $800 here in Calgary. I know of another Cabby that had theis done at the same shop this summer and it cost the same.
A third Cabby owner simply bought a used top (frame rear window and all) from Montgomry Auto here in Calgary for $500.
There is always the replaceit youself option where you buy the new top and install it yourself for $250-350 (US).
In any event, my expierence was worth having the top replaced, since I don't intend to sell the car.
