Holiday Weekend work

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

Holiday Weekend work

Post by Calimus »

Well Saturday and Sunday saw me working on my fathers 94' Ford Ranger. Yes, thats right I said Ford. He blew one of the heads and maybe osme more so he figured that 220k was enough on that moror and picked up another. We had lots of fun yanking the old motor out. As always the tranny was a complete hobag to remove.

Monday I cleaned the garage up again. Re-arranged some things and tinkered with the cabby just a bit. Couldn't get it to duplicate the problem it' sbeen having, but I'm not dumb enough to let it back out of my site again just yet either.

Also prepped something for the rocco. A set of rear axle poly bushings. I had a spare set of the bushing mounts so I pressed the old rubber out and put the new poly in. Now when I work on the rocco, I can slap these in place and get a little more stiffness in the back end. I have a bad bushing back there that currently lets the drivers side sag a bit in the rear.

So that was my weekend.

Ford + motor swap = Yup, that's my surprised look.

Let's see, Friday night was a 2003 Malibu with a front end noise, (loose hubcap) and an 80 CM200T for tires and an oil leak. Saturday morning was finishing up the CM200T then on to a Suzuki 4 wheeler for chain adjustment and sliming the tires. A quick plug change and mixture adjustment on an XR80 and then an exhaust gasket on a 91 Vanagon. From there we went to a 94 Chevy 4X4 for rear brakes, No adjuster in the right side (somebody took it out  ) the left side cylinder was cooked and the e brake cable was frozen. That ended my day and the weekend for working on cars. I saw The Longest Yard (highly recommend it) and went out for Chinese.

Tonight is a Neon for who knows what, a guy cornered me in church Sunday morning and asked me to do a favor for a friend, told me it was a Toyota so I swung by his house. It's a Neon with paint peeling, OH JOY!
