I need help replacing coil springs over OEM struts on a 1983 Cabriolet. It has been converted to electric and has over 400 extra pounds in the rear seat. Anyone know how to buy stronger springs or otherwise lift the car's rear end? Typical autoparts stores can't help. And I am getting no response from the OEM strut US/Canada office.

Sorry I can't really help you.
You could try locally sourcing overloads or beefier springs, here in atlanta there are a few 4X$ shops that either make or special order beefier springs.
In years past I had over loaders on my Diesel rabbit as I was carrying about 400 pounds in the trunk, and the rabbits rear sagged.
I got them at JC Whitney, but I don't imagine they make them any more. But they bolted at the front to the rear axle, and through a sway link that bolted to the rear transport holder it added 800 lbs of lift to the body.
I could fit 3 adults in the rear with my 400 extra pounds and I noticed no sag.
