Re: Hi
A Rabbit, or a Cabriolet? Hardtop, or Ragtop?
The best place to look is www.cabby-info.com Kammy has a buyers guide there.

Re: Hi
Hi Austin, Welcome to TRF.
Looking for a Cabby (or any MK1 for that matter) sort of depends on where you are. In more northern areas (aka rust belt) pay special attention to the shock towers in the engine bay, they have a tendency to rust out there. In desert climates, dry rot becomes the issue.
In any event, see Kamy's buyer's guide that Brian mentioned. It is very well put together and does offer some very good advice.

Re: Hi
Just had a friend that bought a new one to him in the GWN (Great White North) Rear axle mounts rusted through and it is beyond repair.
So look once, twice and all things rusty.

Re: Hi
So True. That's why I looked at so many when I bought Posh Bunny. Surface rust isn't a big problem, it's the stuff that eats through the metal that destroys the car. If the body is bad, it's not worth it.Briano1234 wrote:Just had a friend that bought a new one to him in the GWN (Great White North) Rear axle mounts rusted through and it is beyond repair.
