Newbie Here
Hello all . I have just become a member of this site because I have just acquired a 2002 Cabby. This is my first one and I have no idea how they work. I hope to find out how to work on this thing and keep it on the road. I bought it for my grandaughter and she wont be able to drive for about a year so I will drive it. Have heard many things about them and I hope I have made a good choice. Hope to see you in the forums.

Re: Newbie Here
Welcome! We don't have too many of the MKIII cabbies on here, but some of us are familiar with them. I'm sure you will get some enjoyment out of it and your granddaughter certainly will when the time comes. Feel free to ask any questions, we will help you find the answers.

Welcome EarlD!
Mine is a little older- -by about 20 years, but I like the newer ones as well. I saw a young lady driving an 02 the other day and I was smiling at her as she went by, but I was really smiling at the car- -I think she knew it was a volkswagen smile.
Any pictures to post??

I hate white cars. Got a great deal on it though and it won't be in my possession too long. Good car so far. 35 mpg on trips. That's what I like.

Re: Newbie Here
I like the Mk3s. A friend of mine has one. i've never been in it but the look a little slicker. my goal is to own both a Mk1 and a Mk3, and eventually a Thing, or as i like to call it the Cabriolet Tank

Re: Newbie Here
Dont mean to sound like I dont like the car. I was looking for a car for my grandaughter and this one came home with me. So,I wont own it long. Its a very good car so far. Had a bit of a problem with it when I first got it not knowing much about it . I had to try a few hit and miss techniques . But I straightened all that out and its doing well. Its a nice quiet car when on the road. Drives and handles well so far. Need the MPG since gas is out of sight. But my grandaughter turns 16 in Oct and she will get this car then. I will drive it till then and enjoy it. Dont know what I will go after next.
