Crank shaft pulley question
Well after much research and debate I decided to do the power steering delete on my Cabby. I will be looping the line on the rack for now and if and when it gives out I found the coveted manuel rack "u joints" to do the full conversion. I have the alt, water pump and crank pulleys off a VW Fox to go to one belt. (My car is factory non a/c). When cheking the various. Crank pulleys I have I found that the 93 Cabby pulley weighs more than a mk2 pulley or Rabbit ones. The fox pulley has a weight of sorts on the front of it. All that to get to my queston which is do I need to use the heavy pulley original to my car or can I run a less heavey one from another VW? Does the heavy pulley act as a balencer of sorts?

Re: Crank shaft pulley question
The larger mk2 pulley is a harmonic balancer, that should of been balanced to the cars Crank, so I wouldn't think you would interchange it.
You could just leave the old pulley on there as a belt stop.
