Normal!!! Don't worry about it! To reassure you: My '86 has run that way from the day I bought it back in 1989... and that's with two radiator replacements and one t-stat replacement and several flushes. My mom's '84 ran the exact same way. So long as your cooling fan is turning on when the needle gets to the right side of the light, and so long as the red light isn't flashing and/or the needle isn't pegging to the right, it's fine!VDubbinIt wrote:the line is already right on top of the red light, it will then go to the right side of the light before the fan comes on, but it generally stays either right on top of the light or on the right side, even when I'm on the freeway.
