no blinkers or flasher on my 86 cabriolet ...please help
no blinkers or flasher... I have tried just about everything to new turn signal relay to new emergency flasher and even new fuses. I do have power going to emergency flasher.. there are three wires that are getting power red wire with white strip and black wire with blue strip and white wire. I did try to see if I had power coming out of the turn signal assembly, but there is no power with or without when the turn signal on or with the emergency flasher on either.

If you don't have blinkers, but the 4-way works it is the switch.
If you turn on the turn signals and the light just glows, then you have a bad fuse.
There are separate fuses for the turns and the 4-way.
Also if you don't have the right flasher relay it acts funny. I think if I remember that the Wagner Turn Signal Relay is the one that acts wonky.
If you have replaced the 4-way switch and the Flasher is correct, and the fuses are good, then it may be the stalk switch that is bad.
If you turn the lever to left or right and the idiot light blinks or glows, then the switch is usually good.

OK, No flasher and no turn signal. You have power, so we need to look at what is comon. That rules out the stalk on the steering shaft.rollin@classic wrote:no blinkers or flasher... Comon items are the flasher relay (on the fuse panel) and the Emergency Flasher switch.
The Emergency Flasher Switch is used to select power source and "cuts out" the turn signal switch when selected.
I would think if the switch is screwed, you would see either the turn signals or the emergency flasher, where as the relay operates the same in either mode.
Me, I would try the relay first, then if that doesn't work, try the switch.
