What to Do?

Well I finally got my wheels for the Posh Bunny, I think they look great. but I have run into a problem.

First look at the picture.


Now the problem.

The front wheels rub. The car has been lowered slightly. I can't get my fingers between the top of the tire and the fender.

I'm thinking of trying them on Topless Bunny (it's not lowered) and see if that will work. If so I will put the wheels from Topless Bunny on Posh Bunny for this season.

My question is, what should I do for a more permanent solution?

You would either have to raise the car, or roll the fenders.
Slightly smaller wheels would be another alternative.

whats the rubber size your using now....maybe try and find a very low low profile almost rubber band tire. they do look good btw!

They are 215/55R17.

I have a set of 15 inch BBS wheels, I think I might just end up using those.

I'm still thinking I'll put them on Topless Bunny I think they will work there.

17's on a cabby is a serious tight fit. You'd have to step down to 40 series rubber not to rub or roll the fenders and then maybe drop to 45 series.

Stock suspension cabby, you might not rub cept on harsh bumps.

Hey folks, thanks for the feedback.

Since I got these wheels as a package, I really don't have the option of new rubber for them (the tires are Bridgestone RE11s) and it would be a shame to replace them with other rubber.

I was hoping for some creative fix that might lift the car or something. Because the bodywork is still new, I didn't want to chance rolling the fenders.

I still need to get eight lug bolts to properly fit them, and I am going to try them on Topless Bunny. If that works, I can use the Snowflakes from there on Posh Bunny.

If all else fails, I have a set of 15 inch BBS wheels, but will have to buy new rubber for them. I will also need a set of centre caps for the BBS.

In any event the steel wheels that are currently on the car (origional from my '80 GTI Evil Rabbit) really have to go. They are really only good for winter storrage.

When I have the situation sorted out, I will post some pictures.

Can certainly understand not wanting to roll fenders. It's a tricky and rather permanent mod. Hope you get it all sorted out, they do look good.

Well, in the end I had to abandon what I was trying and go for "Plan B". I had a set of 15" BBS wheels, so I bit the bullet and bought a set of tires for them. Now allI need is a set of centre caps and Posh Bunny will look great! (pictures to follow)

Also I have a really cool set of wheels that don't fit anything I own.
