Stinky Bunny v.1.6d

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

It just seems that there are more imbeciles working on VW/ Audis than other makes. If you can't do it right, 1/2 ass it and it'll be fine.

OK, on to Stinky. Here's the plan, as soon as the weather warms up, it'll be a go for launch. I've been pecking away at the little things when we get weather that DOES NOT cause SIGNIFICANT SHRINKAGE!! I did a few minor interior things to her the other day in the 45 degree weather that felt like a summer day compared to the rest of this winter. Al Gore needs his ass shaved with a broken beer bottle and mace, global warming my ass!!

Winter weather here's been strange, too. Apparently the last couple of years the jet stream has been in a weird place, causing arctic air to mix with air further south. It's making for unusual warm winters farther north and unusually cold ones at mid-latitudes. Interesting article here:

OK, time for an update:
Working on stripping out the Eco, should have the motor out this week sometime if the weather holds, but it doesn't look too good. :(

Bunny should run next weekend. We're dropping the NA diesel in her because I have a feeling the head gasket's toast in the Eco motor. So we're going to rebuild the Eco with new bits and a hybrid turbo and drop it in the fall. Rabid Irish from the tex is coming over next weekend to help with it. Any other locals are more than welcome to come over, but I need a head count so I can have enough food on hand. Locals being in the Baltimore metro area.

Gee, I remember Diesels.... I still miss my rabbit diesel... No Plugs, No wires, No electrics, just a set of glow plugs, and a filter every so often....

Got a few more things done, coolant tank, purged the fuel cell a little more and put the heater hoses on. On top of the crap weather I'm having friggin' back spasms which are a REAL treat to deal with. :rmad: Tomorrow will be the exhaust.

OK, we're wired for water and fuel. If anyone knows where a good photo of the shift linkage for a Cabriolet, I'd appreciate the hell out of the link or posting it up in here. I'm trying to cobble that together, then the exhaust. Still on schedule for a run this weekend, M and I are stoked to say the least.

now add a weighted billet, and a short shifter from Missing Linkz and it will rock your world. You can build your own weighted rod...

There's some excellent diagrams here:
http://www.4crawler.com/Diesel/ForSale/ ... kage.shtml
You'll probably find those less confusing than actual photos would be.

I agree with Briano except that personally I think it's worth the money to get the whole MissingLinkZ linkage. The threaded shift rods make it so much easier to adjust the shifter. No crawling under the car to slip the shift rod clamp around.

I'll have to shoot a pic, I think I have the bearing at the end of the long rod in backwards. I don't have anything here to look at so I'm screwed.

Nick gave a good way to install that bearing....

Spit it in half lengthwise. Slip it over the rod and then in the bearing cup. No adjustments are broken/

I liked it well enough to do my 90 that way and even tho I only had it about 6 months after that BW
It never caused me any grief.

You have to realize that this is the first time it's being installed. Stinky was an autotragic, now we can row the gears.

Not a whole hell of a lot done today with the tornado warning and hellish rains we got. Tomorrow's another day.

Not much today, Charlie our Boxer has some sort of neurological issue and is having a time with steps. It's storming like mad outside as well. 3 steps forward and 2 back, grrrr. :rmad:
