Re: Bug-A-Paluza 13
Well my Cabby is going back together slowly but surely. I was hoping to have her together to take it to work and back this week for a good shake down run but now I am down to the wire. If I am up to it I want to get her fired up Tuesday even if the exhast is not on yet. I almost had the wife convinced to camp but the restrooms or lack their of were the deal breaker. If the Cabby is up for the trip I will show her. I enjoy detailing the car and having an excuse to do it. I do have Wed and Thur off work and hope to be able to leave in time to get to BAP early afternoon Friday.

Nice you have a very cool job, (we need to catch up this weekend!) I have a new job since January (same company, different position) but I can't complain about the perks as well.
Yeah we'll have to look for a road and do the fast and the furious thing !

Juan - catch up we shall. Yea, the A6 is quattro. 2.7 twin turbo w/APR stage 1 chip. Good chance you can smoke me though since I drive it like a old lady on Sunday. Any spirited driving results in rapid depletion of the fuel tank, lol.
Brian - Glad it was a nice easy (and free) fix.

I'm coming from Jackson, Tn. If you are going on I40, maybe you could try The Loveless Cafe. They have the absolutey the BEST biscuits and fried chicken. But you have to get there early, usually have a wait.I have a 6-hour drive. Where are you coming from

The Cabby lives!
She fired up last night I had a few issues with ignition timing but sorted that out. I just got back from a 10 mile test drive and all apears to be well. Brian I am glad you will be able to make it this year. Do you plan on showing 1 of your legandary Cabbys?

Brian, you should know better than to trust the forcast until thursday evening, and even then, it's still subject to change without notice.
Was up late last night installing last minute goodies on my buggy... bright, shiny bits. Single most expensive item(s) I've bought for it. Still need to finish it up a little, and add a couple more layers of paint to my display board stand. (a 4x4 with a slot cut down it)
Looks like we'll have a good turnout!

Well, I have been having some health issues of late. Not going to elaborate...eric4321 wrote:The Cabby lives! She fired up last night I had a few issues with ignition timing but sorted that out. So I plan on showing my cabby, but alas, I don't have the time to clean it, so it is going as a RAT Rod...that is (It's my daily driver....) It isn't like it is really dirty.... Just needed to steam clean the carpets, clean the engine, wax the thing, Spray the Front Seats again, but I get tired really quick, so I won't be doing much more than wiping it off.
Glad that your car is up and running.

Ok, so the A6 is loaded down like a pack mule and in launch position for the morning. I swear I don't know how I got all that crap in the car and what's worse is that I can't believe that we bring this much crap.
Can't wait to see everyone up there.

Re: Bug-A-Paluza 13
Well I got the exhaust finished yesterday on the Cabby. I converted the exhaust to the older 87 style because my 93 manifold was cracked. I am a little uneasy about taking the Cabby this far from home after doing such major work. All I could drive her was about 70 miles. I did the oil change last night and I no longer have a chocolate milk shake in the breather. (I have had that problem since I bought the car) I will be packing about as much as the little Cabby can hold as well. Last year I got some good parts at the swap meet and I was very suprised that I fit it all in such a small car.
