Re: Jetta Update
the codes i got turned out to be nothing, but i did have a bad o2 sensor (hence the CEL)
me thinks you have to have a landrover specific scan tool to get engine codes

Re: Jetta Update
How did you pull the 3 codes that you posted?
Any OBDII compliant vehicle should speak to generic scan tools.
It's a federal legislative issue and needs to be adhered to.
I have 2 late model Fords that will not communicate with my
Snap-On MicroScan and I am in the process of having the
manufacturer explain to me why. One I believe will need an ECM
replaced under warranty, the other has had an MIL on since the
owner jumpstarted earlier this year, he's bumming.

Re: Jetta Update
U0100 and U0167 both have severe implications for engine management.
No start conditions in my mind are a problem.

Re: Jetta Update
well today i started putting the rear brakes back together only to find out pep boys is just as bad as kragen/schucks/checker
the pads are too thick for my rotors, even with the calipers compressed to the point of them being bottomed out the are still about 4mm too close together...im taking them back and getting them from the dealer.

Re: Jetta Update
If you had single rotors they are the right size. For vented rotors, they are too wide....(order the 83 GTI) and you will get the vented rotor pads.SoCal_Cabby wrote:well today i started putting the rear brakes back together only to find out pep boys is just as bad as kragen/schucks/checker

Re: Jetta Update
The rear? opps I was talking about the fronts as I had the same issues that you described the last time I went to put on pads.sixsracing wrote:VW had vented rotors in the rear?
