Well I Did it!

Post by CalAltaDubber »

Finally I said the heck with it and ordered a wind deflector from Bodi Windshotts (Windesa) in Germany.

204 Euros and it will take about two weeks (plus a couple of days) to get here.

I can't wait! I must be :screwy: or something :D

Pics when I get it!

Woohoo!

Call me nuts, but I'm actually pondering selling mine. It works great, but I never use it; it's been off the car for over a year now. :screwy:

Great, you must take pics when it comes in!! What color/style did you get?

expensive but I dont regret getting mine. It's functional AND asthetically pleasing. Kammy just loves having knotted hair apparently. hehehe. Kamz, before you sell yours, take measurements so I can finally order that vinyl storage case from you :D

Well, you know, I think the "Frankie" curse is real. Once I removed George's windstop, the car started running better. I think rather than selling it, I'll sacrifice it to VW gods. But seriously, every time I think about putting it up on eBay, I think to myself, "No, some day you'll want to use it again!" So, I'm really rather torn. What I really need is an adjustable screen; one that can be half length in the summer and then pulled down to the floor in the winter.

Knotted hair? Never!

And I haven't forgotten about the storage bag! I made one for mine out of some leftover vinyl, but it's a tad too small; it takes some effort to get the screen in it. Next time I make a vinyl run, I'll be sure to get enough for your windscreen, Cristine! 8)

Thanks, it would be great having a place to store it away from dust and bug bits. Truth be told, i have not been driving the Crabby Cabby :( I have a flat that I just never seem to get around to getting fixed so have been on the MC all summer.

BTW I'd maybe consider performing an exorcism in any of George's old parts before you put any more on

Well it came a week and change ago :D :D
Sorry to take so long to do this but I had company from Europe.

I put it on the car right away and noticed the difference driving down the street.

It came with a vinal storrage bag and fits in real nicly.

While out with it installed after an hour I was sitting at the local Dary Queen when a fellow in a MK III cabrio parked beside me and asked where I got it.

I took these pictures at our club's show, where I had a lot of attention with the car.

BTW talked to a lot of cabby owners that day and passed out a few TRF cards :D

Looks nice, Phil! The one I got from George was an early version; they've clearly improved them!

Thanks for the compliments folks!

I thought they were a little harder to install, based on what I had read. But the hole thing mounted nicely in just mins.

It's great!!!
