Jeff, Now that we know that you are alive and well (I had the whole northern Alberta VW community out looking for you), I think you do deserve a bit of a hard time for being so quiet.
As for your question. That is a tough one!
You have put so much of yourself in building
Taz that I don't think you really want to sell it. so to me the question really is "to loose the 8V, and if so what to replace it with?"
I know you built the car to go fast that is fast enough to make the proverbial Porsche or Merceedes on the Autobahn look like it is standing still. (You know what I mean). Really what is the best way to achieve the
Fast that you want (Who said a Fast is for a GTI only?).
I guess it comes down to where you can get more
BANG for the buck.
Basically, if you are gonna keep blowing head gaskets, maybe it would be worth looking at a new engine
Although you seem happy with what the 8V can do, the Webber's would be cool.
Me, I'd probably do the Webbers.
