Post by Caddycabby »

Been there done that, the only difference is that all my cars ran, and all my brothers didn't so my mother made me get rid of 2 of my 4 cars... my 67 MG and my 72 Rover, they let me keep my 58 Bug-eye.... beside i wasn't living at home and had a new toyota. There were a total of 10 cars, I had 4 my brother had 4 and my dad had 2.... funny my brother still has those 4 cars....and they still don't run after 30 years

Once you have two cars, it seems easy for the third, fourth to come along. I get a lot of comments at home about my current fleet of four cars (mostly about the '88 Caby project car).

Speaking of which, I intend to start on in about six weeks (when I get to take back the whole garage).

Tony I have a growing pile of spare MK I parts, so if you need something, I might have it. That way we could probably do a deal.

The car came with carion 6 by9's jl audio 3.5's a sweet pioneer deck with inputs for xm, dvd, television etc. Interior is mint and the clock in the guage cluster actually works. Also came with aftermarket cam and brand new 2 1/4" exhaust. sounds very nice

very nice, rims look good on it too. Not to mention that for some reason, it looks better sitting high on the rims then it would lowered I think.

I'm hearing a funny metalic ringing sound when I drive the car. When I wiggle the e brake it changes and if I pull it out high enough the sound stops. I checked the brakes and they are all good, pads are a little low on the back but they still look okay. any adeas? tighten e brake?

a ringing could be the anti chatter spring, running on the rotor.

sorry brian-fart.... I hadn't had my coffee... if you are hearing a ring, and you pull the e-brake then it is probably the ebrake cable has jumped out of the holder and rubbing on the drum. You are gonna have to probably replace the cable.... I wouldn't let it go to long

You can try to adjusrt the e-brake there are 2 10mm nuts under the plastic cover. see if you can't get some slop out of it.

Brian, you could have played it off as if they might have the rear disc conversion.

However, I think I like the "brian-fart" better :P
