I'll have one in Blue please...

Post by Briano1234 »

Hello; My name is Brian, and I am a Cabbyholic.......

With luck, I will be buying my second cabby in b'ham on Wed night.

It is a 93 with new tmi seat covers and so far the defects that I know of are only:

NO RUST AT ALL.

The drivers door, is kinked, so it will have to be unkinked ( mmm new from a yard and painted..)

Will need a new top and a Cat, and the a/c fixed..... Gee like thats a problem to me...

Sooooooo with that being said... wish me luck..... and the gold fairey will be changing Gold on dark blue......nice.........ah cha cha

Yes as matter of fact, I have the Luck o'the Irish...everything I touch turns to fertilizer of the bovine variety.

Well Brian,

It seems we got a lot in common, I too am buying another Cabby.

I found a red '88 that is just right for restoration. No rust Driver's door dented and running.

It has acouple of issues, but it is for a project, so I imagine it will be a long time before it will cruise the local roads.

I will pick it up on Tomorrow.

As soon as I get it home.

This is a car crying for help. She's not pretty, but given time in the garage over the next couple of years, she will be.

It's Here :D :D

But it is too dark for pictures.

Ther is a cold start valve issue (parts are in the trunk),

Needs the struts replaced (parts are in the trunk)

Needs the clutch adjusted, the pressure point is right at the end of travel. Kinda like popping the clutch all the time.

Now I just need to get started.

YAY! Now I expect that there will be sufficient light tomorrow for some good shots.

I dont think it has a cold start problem. In fact, I am convinced that this was a factory option.

Number 2 is safely in the carport as I type.

The drive from Birmingham Al, was fun and a few times I had it over 90, that was wild... but here is the short list that I see as needing fixing so far... I will know more tomorrow

The list of things wrong is many.
NO CIGGIE LIGHTER This is a Biggie in my book.
NO water TEMP on the gauge
NO Light on the lightswitch
NO Light on the oil pressure gauge ( tops right below the ciggie lighter)
NO Light on the heater controls
A/C condensor broke
Defrost only, I hear a vac leak accounts for crappy idle
Windshield Washer nees repair.
No Keys for the door or trunk
Needs top
Has a metal metal vibration at 80 that I sounds like the cage over the downpipe.
Antenna ain't fer shit.
But all in all managable....
Need new clips for the trim
The door damage may come out with a dentless removal and a shim or 3
Bumper on the back is holed.
Fender flairs need repaint.
Air bag lights on
Drivers seat bolster broke and seat bottom torn (good thing I only put one seat cover on the other bunny... :)

But that is all that I know about at this moment.

Oh, and why on earth did ya let that dirty old man sit on top of the car like that :P

Reminds me, we stillhave something for you. Need to arrange a meeting somewhere so that we can turn it over.
