Cab

Post by vtgti »

That's not a bar, but a full cage. I wasn't able to find any company that sold either bolt in or weld in roll cage kits to fit a Cabby. Regular rabbit ones won't fit because of the existing roll bar. One of my friends does drag racing and helped me weld that cage into the car. Car is amazingly stiffer.

The engine has 170,000 on it, but I am bringing another engine up to my engine shop to have it rebuilt and built up a bit.

well mine i'm doing for show, so i won't be needing a full cage. since i drive it everyday, i need to be able to comfortably get in and out of it.

i'm doing the bar so it sits right below the factory bar and runs back and crosses over in the same style that yours is. i just don't want any of it forward of the front seats.

Here is a pic of the front of the roll cage right after I had it built, so never mind that it doesn't have paint on it. The door bar is sloped down by your feet, but still gives you protection at your waist. (never mind the cushy leathers, as the Kirkey Aluminum seats are much lower, your ass is 3" from the floor pan).

Your interior almost looks as stripped as the one in my garage. Then again, I'm actually stripping that car.

Very interesting carbs. I've seen ITB's on a 16v but thats teh first time I've actually seen dual carbs on one. Very cool. Looks like it should make a good contender once your finished.

Looks like he used the factory mounting points. Though it does look like he extended the adjustment arm for the Altenator to clear the TB's.

WTF Is wrong with you mate, you totally raped the car. No offence but it's good that not everyone has the same taste. You don't see them like yours around here.

Everyone definitly has their own tastes, but I don't think he raped the cabby, heh. While it looks rough, looks arn't what that car is about, or at least not yet. That car is all about kickin ass on a track and he just recently got the car running. Saw a clip of it on the vortex that he posted. Car sounded meaner then hell and had some serious throttle responce. I'd love to drop that engine in my rocco.

Ow my mistake than, sorry

I thought he was driving it on dayly bases like that. I thought who the f*** builds a roll cage in a cabbie ... and what's with the dashboard....

But if it is a mean racing machine I REST MY CASE.

I wouldn't think twice about driving it everyday, what could be better than pulling up next to anything that laughs and blowing it off the road. In New England there are lots of "beaters" that will smoke many of their competition.
