more cluster work...

yeah, i'm still futzing around with the cluster

trying something with the lighting.

i got this at the local 'zone

in red

to light up this

i'm going to tap into the original cluster lighting so it'll turn on with the headlight switch.
should have it fit and working tomorrow...i know, i've said that before!

heh, felt like a ricer going in and buying neon.

Dunno, how well that lil deal will do. If that doesn't cut it, go to a PC modding site and order a cold cathode kit. It should be the same thing, but I know the quality of the one's for PC's. I put 2 of them in my daughters clear case PC that I built for her. With the lights on, you can read a book in the room

might have to check that out.
but this one is really bright, i was test fitting it a little while ago and hooked it up for a sec and it was as bright as the stock cluster lighting.
i think i'm going to open up the top of the cluster housing a little just to spread the light out a bit more.

ok, heres a test lighting. it's brighter in person then in the pics... i suck at night pics!
i just have it sitting on the pass seat with it plugged in the lighter socket.
i have a few more tweeks to do before i permanently mount the tube.

on with the rest of the gauges.

i got the tops glued back on the vdo gauges

went to the 'zone and got these

in red

i tried them out and they are pretty bright! i'll post up some pics of the finished product soon... but for right now i'm sitting here doing this

ok, heres some pics of the cluster installed and DONE!

for some reason i can't get the VDO gauges to take a good pic, they are bright in person but are dim on camera.

it still has a ways to go. i need to fill the hole under where the radio is going, i want to do something really cool there.... but i'm drawing a blank, SUX! thats why it's still a hole.
