Clutch Cables from Hell.

Have you done so much to the car today that it just doesn't fit into one section, or are you too damn lazy to split it all up? Either way, this is the section for you.

Okay, i know, i need a bentley. George tried to send me a link but i could never download it. Does anyone else have downloadable copy? okay. ON TOPIC.

Just went out side to move the cabby so my dad could take the jetta out. Pushed in the clutch to go back into first so i could go back up the driveway. SNAP! something broke! oh no!

Well, clutch is down, stuck to the floor. Damn, i did it now. Well, my dads done it a couple times so i didnt feel bad. but, my poor little baby is stuck in the driveway now. :( Can anyone give me some steps on reaplacing it? I remember someone saying they could do it in 5 minutes. I need you help. Also, is this a very specific part? Could i find it realy easy? I'm thinking about buying a few. ;) Just so it never happens again.

Now, preventative, is there anything i'm doing that's helping to wear this guy out? Thanks.

Also, i need to teach my dad how to Knock on Wood. I dont think they did that in south america. Juan? ;) He told me right after it happened that he just remarked on how good it's been and how long it's bee since it borke. so much for that. Please help!

very easy to replace, one end hooks on to the hook on the back of the clutch pedal (feed in thru the fire wall) the other end goes thru the shift arm on the tranny, there's a slotted washer type thing that holds it onto the arm. then you have to unscrew it and adjust it to where you like the tension (unless of course you buy the more expensive self-adjusting ones).
