Can I swap a 5 speed transmission out of a Mk2 Jetta (1991) into a 90 Cabriolet? Not looking to change a lot of mounts or linkage, straight forward swap is desired. Thanks for the help.

I know that it will bolt up to the motor/block. What I'm worried about is the mounting, probably nothing to worry about but if somebody has gone there before me it would ease my mind. Thanks for the post though.

I'm fairly sure the mounting points on the tranny are the same but the mounts that attach to them are definitely different.Calimus wrote:mounts are different I think. Wish I had an A2 to look just to be sure but I'm almost positive the mounts are a bit different. Not that some minor fabbing wouldn't take care of it.
